Any yarns used in our running line shags can be custom combined to create color-ways of your own design. Or you can send us fabrics you would like to match and let our artisans create options for you. Either way, CUSTOM APPROVAL POMS can be created at no charge within 1-2 days. Upon approval, rugs can be completed in as little as 2-4 weeks from receipt of 50% deposit.*
CUSTOM DYED VARIATIONS OF STANDARD SHAGS
Most of the yarns used to create shags can be custom dyed to create a totally custom shag rug. CUSTOM APPROVAL POMS can also be created at no charge, but since custom dyeing takes time please allow an additional 10-14 days. Upon approval, custom-dyed rugs can be completed in as little as 4-6 weeks from receipt of 50% deposit.*
CUSTOM SAMPLES
For an exact interpretation of your custom shag, 1’ x 1’ samples are available for a nominal and non-refundable fee. Allow 1-2 weeks for custom samples using standard yarn colors and 3-4 weeks for samples using custom-dyed yarn(s).**
**Actual lead times and pricing are quoted on a per job basis. To insure prompt service, Custom Color Options are shown. Click on any standard shag and you will find Custom Color Options which show the exact “recipe” as well as the available standard yarn colors from which each color-way is created. This allows you to create your own custom combinations.

Notice on Handmade Carpets
Handmade natural fiber floor coverings are woven using a consistency of animal fibers and tend to have irregularities which are considered part of their beauty. Variations in weave and shading create a distinctive and interesting character making handmade natural fiber floor coverings unique which are a welcomed result of being crafted by skilled artisans by hand. What you will not find anywhere is a PERFECT natural handmade fiber floor covering.
Therefore, seaming these products may be problematic and is the primary reason we produce these carpets in 15’-0” width goods. We strongly suggest that the flooring dealer representative, installer, and end user consult on any project requiring a seam prior to any project. Discussing this information upfront sets the end user’s expectations accordingly. Seams are done at the discretion of the purchaser and claims will not be considered as such. Installers may have to hand shear the seams, trimming of pile may be necessary to balance seams, and perform more expert installations than they are normally accustomed to if seams are performed. These adjustments are not due to defects but may be necessary steps to bring some installations to an optimal conclusion.
Helpful installation tips: Handmade carpets should be installed with conventional tack and pad. The pad should be a firm dense- 8 lb. minimum. Allow carpet to acclimate to room conditions for at least 12 hours and a 24-hour acclimation period is recommended where possible.

PLEASE REQUEST A CUTTING FOR APPROVAL IF NECESSARY FOR YOUR PROJECT. HANDMADE CARPET HAS NATURAL SHADING. THE LOOPS MAY BE INCONSISTENT AND VARY IN THICKNESS AND HEIGHT. WIDTHWISE LINES AND SHEDDING ARE NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS FOR A DENSE HANDMADE PRODUCT. HANDMADE PRODUCTS DO NOT HAVE PRECISE PATTERN MATCHES. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT PATTERNS AND TEXTURES WILL MATCH WHEN SEAMS ARE MADE. SEAMS ARE LIKELY TO BE VISIBLE AND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. SEAMS ARE DONE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE PURCHASER. HANDMADE CARPETS REPRESENT THE TIME-HONORED CRAFT OF WEAVING AND THEIR UNIQUENESS SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN PURCHASING THESE CARPETS FOR AREA RUGS AND WALL-TO-WALL APPLICATIONS.
